Erken Çocuklukta Fen Eğitimi: Pedagojik Yaklaşımlar, Öğretmen Yeterlilikleri ve Uygulama Engellerine İlişkin Bir Derleme

Özet

Erken çocukluk dönemi, bireyin bilişsel, dilsel, sosyal-duygusal ve bilimsel gelişiminin temellerinin atıldığı kritik bir dönemdir. Bu dönemde sunulan fen eğitimi deneyimleri, çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerini, problem çözme yeteneklerini, eleştirel düşünme becerilerini ve bilimsel okuryazarlıklarını geliştirmektedir. Bu derleme çalışmasının amacı, erken çocuklukta fen eğitiminin kuramsal temellerini, çocuk gelişimine katkılarını, kullanılan pedagojik yaklaşımları, öğretmen yeterliliklerini ve uygulamada karşılaşılan engelleri güncel literatür doğrultusunda incelemektir. Literatür bulguları, sorgulamaya dayalı öğrenme, oyun temelli öğrenme, proje tabanlı uygulamalar, STEM etkinlikleri ve doğa temelli öğrenme yaklaşımlarının çocukların fen öğrenmelerini ve bilimsel düşünme becerilerini desteklediğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin fen alan bilgisi, pedagojik yeterlilikleri ve öz-yeterlik algılarının fen eğitiminin niteliği üzerinde belirleyici olduğu görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte materyal eksikliği, yetersiz fiziksel ortamlar, kalabalık sınıflar, sınırlı mesleki gelişim olanakları ve sosyoekonomik eşitsizlikler erken çocuklukta fen eğitiminin önündeki temel engeller arasında yer almaktadır. Sonuç olarak erken çocuklukta fen eğitimi, çocukların bilimsel düşünme becerilerini ve yaşam boyu öğrenme eğilimlerini destekleyen önemli bir öğrenme alanıdır. Bu nedenle öğretmen eğitimlerinin güçlendirilmesi, fen ve doğa öğrenme ortamlarının geliştirilmesi, aile katılımının artırılması ve eşitlik odaklı eğitim politikalarının desteklenmesi önerilmektedir.
