Abstract

In this study, the leadership characteristics of school administrators were analysed according to teachers' views. In the 2023-2024 academic year, 216 teachers working in Kadıköy district of Istanbul province voluntarily participated in the study. In the research designed in the general survey model, data were collected by questionnaire method.  The data obtained were analysed with SPSS 22.0 statistical software. In addition to number, percentage, mean, standard deviation as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data, t-test and One-Way Anova test were used to examine the differentiation according to demographic characteristics. As a result of the research, it was found that school administrators had transformational and transactional leadership characteristics at high level and permissive leadership characteristics at medium level.  It was observed that there was no difference in teachers' perceptions of leadership towards school administrators according to their marital status, age, seniority and working time in the school, but there were differences according to their gender.
