Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effects of perceived organisational support on teachers' innovative behaviours. For this purpose, a questionnaire consisting of personal information form, perceived support scale and innovative work behaviour scale was applied to 311 teachers working in Bağcılar district of Istanbul province in 2022-2023 academic year. Convenience sampling method was chosen to determine the teachers. The analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaires was carried out in computer environment through SPSS 22.0 statistical programme. Percentage and frequency analyses were used to determine the descriptive characteristics of teachers, and mean and standard deviation statistics were used to examine perceived organisational support and innovative work behaviours. The relationships between perceived organisational support and innovative work behaviours were examined by correlation analysis and the effect of perceived organisational support on innovative work behaviours was examined by regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that teachers' perceived organisational support and innovative work behaviours were at high levels and there were positive relationships between perceived organisational support and innovative work behaviours. The study also concluded that the organisational support perceived by teachers from their managers had no effect on their innovative work behaviours, whereas the organisational support perceived by teachers from their colleagues positively affected and increased their innovative work behaviours.
